Lukashenko's bodyguard heads private security company Guardservice

Yury Alsheuski, a member of Lukashenko's security service, now leads Guardservice, the only private security company in Belarus with a special permit to handle weapons. Thanks to CyberPartisans, we discovered that he has been working as a bodyguard for Aleksandr Lukashenko for approximately 20 years. He accompanied the president on overseas trips, including India in 2017, China in 2018, and Turkmenistan in 2019.

Yury Alsheuski's wife has also recently placed herself on record. Her name is Sviatlana Sakalouskaya and she was "elected" as a deputy to the House of Representatives in 2024. She is also the First Deputy Chairwoman of the State Control Committee of the Minsk Region.

Alsheuski is Guardservice's third director since 2020. Previously, the company was headed by Yauheni Chanau and Uladzimir Arekh. Euroradio established a connection between Guardservice, Lukashenko's Department of Presidential Affairs, and his closest associate Viktar Sheiman through Chanau's figure.

In August 2020, Uladzimir Arekh replaced Chanau. Arekh is a career military officer and former head of the logistics department of the Western Operational Command. Arekh headed the company until November 2023.

Guardservice is the only "private" security organization in Belarus with a special permit to purchase, store, and entrust civilian and service weapons to its employees. In June 2020, Aleksandr Lukashenko issued a special decree granting the company authorization.

Not much is known about the organization's activities. BelPol's investigation in November 2023 revealed that Guardservice possessed a significant number of weapons, yet they did security for just two individuals, Viktar Sheiman and businessman Aliaksei Aleksin, who is closely associated with the Belarusian authorities. The company profits from questionable practices of reselling real estate that was obtained from the state for free.
