Sheiman's chicken feet
A new company has entered Viktar Sheiman's business empire – ZAO GBK – Shelkovyi Put. It was registered in 2020, and the following year it was accepted in the Minsk Free Economic Zone. The company proved to be very profitable, paying 33.5 million Belarusian rubles in dividends to shareholders over the last two years.
The company is a logistics hub whose main purpose is to export meat products and by-products to China and Southeast Asian countries. For example, the company buys chicken feet in Uzbekistan and then resells them to other countries. As they say on their website:
"We offer meat processors the opportunity to promote their products to markets in China, and we offer delicacies such as chicken feet and beef shanks to consumers in China".
Tatsiana Anoshka, the Director of GBK – Shelkovyi Put, used to head another Sheiman company, Globalcustom. It was founded in 2015. This was a year after Russia banned food imports from Western countries in response to sanctions. The company was actively engaged in supplying 'sanctioned' food to Russia.
The GBK – Shelkovyi Put website was set up in 2021. WHOIS data shows that OOO Globalcustom Management registered this domain.
The second company was co-owned by Hanna Khmialeuskaya and Hanna Pushkarova, who is the current common-law wife of Viktar Sheiman and mother of their son Mikhail.
The phone number provided during registration on the GBK – Shelkovyi Put website belongs to Yury Zhouner, brother of Yauheni Zhouner. Yauheni was previously involved in a significant project of the Sheiman family, which was gold mining in Zimbabwe. Yauheni Zhouner was listed as a nominal co-owner of Globalcustom and the security company Guardservice. Lukashenko granted special permission for these companies to purchase, store, and distribute civilian and service weapons to their employees. Sources refer to Yauheni Zhouner as Sheiman's confidant.
The annual financial statements indicate that GBK – Shelkovyi Put earned 237 million Belarusian rubles in 2023. A year earlier, the company's revenue amounted to 122 million rubles.
In 2023, the company paid 27 million rubles in dividends and other income from shareholding. This is an increase from the 6.5 million rubles paid in 2022. The beneficiaries of the company are unknown as the shareholders are not disclosed. The company was established as a closed joint stock company.
In 2023, the company's net profit after taxes and other payments was 5.7 million rubles, while in 2022 it was 2.6 million rubles.
